Cheers from South Dakota!

It seems this forum hasn't had much activity in awhile, but here's to finding you all in good spirits!

My boyfriend found this website for me just today. He bought me a cast iron cooking set for Christmas and really wanted to get me jump started on my creations. We both love research, he just beat me to it!

I started cooking when I was 4. My grandmother was a traditional German woman and we lived on a farm. In high school I focused a lot on athletics and didn't get back into the cooking scene until my son was born in 2005. I became hooked on Emeril Lagasse's TV shows & decided that this is something I really do have a spiritual knack for. Since then I've researched and collected things that I think will make me able to launch a food truck in the next few years. I anticipate bringing my abilities to the next level via this site!

This website is fantastic! I am so excited to move onto the next phase of learning, which include goals of proper knife techniques and better presentation. I do have a food blog and love to take pictures of the creation/end result of my kitchen adventures! Being part of a family who's big into hunting, I am fortunate to work with a wide variety of wild game. Just this morning my first cast iron attempt was a Venison Sausage skillet with peppers, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, eggs and finished with herb garlic goat cheese. It turned out phenomenal. Tonight I plan to sear some New York Strips and will be attempting Chef Burton's roasted potatoes.

Here is to good food, good wine, good company and good times!
Cheers
