Listening To Podcasts

Forum topic

Hi all,

I tried to burn a CD of the Podcasts from Itunes on a CD-R so I can listen in my car CD player and it won't let me do it. Anyone know a way around this? or Jacob will the podcasts be downloadable for members in mp3? thanks.

Today's cook...

I'm smoking a 20lb brisket for a friend's party. When that's finished I'm going to grill 18 bone in, skin on chicken thighs that have been marinating for 24 hours. In the meantime I'm baking some Boston baked beans and I've made Chef Jacobs Asian coleslaw. Then yesterday I baked 2 loaves of Ciabatta bread and 2 dozen Brioche buns. We are also going to have burnt ends and an olive bar with some nice cheese and crackers. Then there will be lots of beer, wine and some spirits.

Homemade Sweet Peas in Pod Soup

Forum topic

With a hint of Spring, heading our way, and the Farmers Markets, chockful of gorgeous green stalks of asparagus, sweet peas in pod, long wide green beans, bell peppers in an array of colors, gorgeous juicy red tomatoes on vine ( Iberian year round from Murcia, in Andalusia, on the southeast coast ) and Swiss Chard, here is the recipe we had while visiting my brother in law and his wife, this past week.

HOME MADE SWEET PEAS IN POD SOUP

2 large leeks sliced to prepare 2 1/4 cups

1 large carrot peeled and diced finely

6 cups of homemade chicken broth

Maroon Carrots - Very Sweet

Forum topic

Hello,

Just thought I'd share of a picture Maroon Carrots, grown by Texas A&M University. I bought them at a Meijer grocery store. They're very sweet and full size carrots. I tried them with Chef Burton's Glazed Ginger Carrots recipe. Tastes great. But they have wicked staining power.

Potage Parmentier is a common creamed soup in western Switzerland and throughout France. There are as many variations as there are the people preparing the creamed soup. Here is my maternal family´s recipe ...

2 large leeks ( pale green and white parts only ), very finely sliced ( about 2 3/4 - 3 cups )

1 large Russet potato, peeled and sliced thinly

1/2 tsp. dry tarragon herb

Classic Greek Shrimp Saganaki

Forum topic

This dish was given to me by a dear friend who lives in Thesasaloniki Port in northeastern Greece, where it is a Tavern Meze, or appetiser. Over the period of time we have spent in the Mediterranean, it has become a family favorite ... it is sort of a Feta Parmigiana ... I have also baked in oven, and it is absolutely incredible ... So, you can prepare stove top simmered or oven baked as you would an aubergine or eggplant alla parmigiana ... ( Melted cheese on top of an ingredient ).

Shrimp Saganaki

1 Kilo or 2 pounds of extra large or Jumbo Shrimp
