Two Sourdough problems - which I guess are related ?
1. I can't get my Starter to float in water - I'm using unfiltered UK Tap Water, but told this only contains "naturally occuring Flouride"
2. I've watched Jacob's video "How To Make A Basic Loaf Of Sourdough Bread" carefully many times, but even when he starts kneading, at his first placing of dough on his board, it's much less sticky than mine.
From the start I have to scrape away hard with my Scraper .... with the dough always sticking to that ... and to my hands.
And this hardly gets any better as I continue my attempt at kneading, unless I resort to regular flouring of board, dough and hands.
Inevitably this always leads to a solid bake.
What am I doing wrong ?
