So I was thinking about what I wanted to email Santa for my Wish List…
I was also thinking about making some eggs for dinner. The problem is that my electric stovetop heats poorly.
Feeling a little like Edward Bear (Winnie-the-Pooh), I thought this shouldn’t be that hard. Staring at some cookware lids, it struck me: Put a lid on it.
I turned the heat up to “3” and covered the pan with a lid that was from another piece of cookware. At about 12 minutes, the temp reached a little over 320°F. The real surprise was not how long it took to reach this temp (I had thought it would take about 5 minutes).
The real surprise was that all parts of the pan were within a few degrees, as measured by an infrared thermometer.
So the next time something in the kitchen puzzles you, channel Edward Bear.
Try “putting a lid on it” and see kind of food will “pan out” this holiday season.
