I've been rereading this one and I really enjoy it. Doesn't seem to be quite as popular as some other books out there but its really an awesome look inside the head of a respected craftsman. What's really interesting about it is the duality of mediums featured in the book: Ripert has a painter tag along for the ride and paint based on the feelings of the moment during the cooking process. Moreover Ripert includes a bunch of info about why he makes certain decisions with cooking techniques and lots of ballin sauce recipes. Definitely worth checking out if y'all are interested.
