Thanks to a very warm spell, this is the earliest I have found black morels.
So can you find three in this photo? The third one you won't.
So many newbies to morel hunting will whine about not finding them, and the stock answer is always 'look at your feet'. You can't believe how many times you will not notice one right in front of you.
This was dinner.
We don't normally use a cream sauce and this may be the last time. A butter sauce highlights the morels better. Actually morels are the ultimate butter conveyance device I know. ;-)
